Division of Colorectal SurgeryThe Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery is composed of surgeons board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, who are recognized locally, regionally, and nationally for their expertise in the care of complex colorectal disease. The surgeons care for patients with an entire spectrum of both benign and malignant disorders of the colon, rectum and anus with the most current technology, medical treatments and surgical procedures. Dr. Bradley Davis performs laparoscopic procedures for a wide range of diseases including colon and rectal cancers, polyps, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, endometriosis, ulcerative and ischemic colitis, GI bleeding, rectal prolapse, colonoscopic perforation, and constipation. The group also has special expertise in transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) for patients with early rectal cancers. This minimally invasive procedure is associated with minimal discomfort, with only one night spent in the hospital, and a quick return to normal activity. The Christ Hospital Pelvic Floor Center - the only one in the region - is visited yearly by hundreds of patients for evaluation and treatment of fecal incontinence, debilitating constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. For more information visit www.Christhospitalpelvicfloor.com. Drs. Rafferty and Davis speak extensively on colorectal cancer prevention and treatment. Dr. Rafferty received special recognition from her peers as the most referred to physician among "Cincinnati’s Top Docs" (Cincinnati Magazine, April 2007). Dr. Davis is a national educator in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Members of the Division are involved in the ASCRS Committee on Standards which composes the national guidelines for care of patients with colorectal diseases.
